Town], written by Klaus Gaebel, and
appearing in the October 25, 2007 edition of The
Saugerties Post Star First: next: "Steinhilber then resumed his questioning, while a red
faced Brennan appeared momentarily stunned." and, then:
"School superintendent Richard Rhau must have
thought he was living his worst nightmare, when at the
last school board meeting he walked into the Jr. High
cafeteria, only to see his nemesis George Heidcamp
sitting in the presidents chair - substituting for
the absent Don Tucker and Heidcamp appearing eager
to run the meeting. For a moment the superintendent
probably wished hed stayed retired in New Jersey."
"At one point during the meeting, while the
board considered a resolution, trustee James Steinhilber
innocently asked questions of an audience member. Trustee
Michael Brennan objected. Brennan was technically correct
that Steinhilbers questions were not germane to the
resolution at hand. Heidcamp, however, was in no mood to
stifle discussion. Having been elected largely on a
campaign pledge to open communication, and always looking
to take advantage of an opportunity, he uttered
point of order is noted CONTINUE!
"Steinhilber was a late entry into the school
board race earlier this year, replacing Kathy Cavanagh
when she bowed out. Losing a close town board race back
in 2001 by 36 votes, in the school race Steinhilber won
over popular incumbent Vince Buono and Edward Kovac.
While some board members often ask questions knowing the
preordained answer, Steinhilbers questions are
probing. How refreshing."
