The following instructions
will explain how to play a .wav file on the Vista
Operating System without saving it as a file
first The "click to listen" audio file is a wav file. Some files are large . If you have high speed internet
access, some files may take about 30 seconds to load. If you have a modem - you may want to save the file to
your PC and then play it. (Some versions of Microsoft Media Player will not
automatically play wav files on Vista PC's.) If your PC is running the Vista O/S, and the file does
not automatically play (in 30 seconds or so) when you "click
to listen," but rather gives you a window requiring you to
SAVE or CANCEL as the only options - you may want to change
your following Vista PC setting in order to attempt to play
the file without downloading it: 1- Click: START 2- Click: Control Panel 3- Click: Classic View (if not already in that
format) 4- Double Click: Default Programs 5- Then pick either "Set your default programs" or
"Associate a file type or protocol with a program". You'll want to
associate WAV files with either Apple's QuickTime, Real
Player, or other player. a- If using the option "Set your default program" - pick
a program such as QuickTime, place a checkmark on the wav
file, and remember to "save" before exiting. b- If using the "Associate a file type with a program" -
highlight wav and then click "change program" and pick one
of the recommended programs other than Media Player.
